Maison Bent's Chic Scarves

May 16, 2023May 16, 2023

The silk scarf is an iconic fashion accessory. Celebrities have worn them — from Audrey Hepburn in the 1953 romance/comedy Roman Holiday to Meryl Streep in the 2006 flick The Devil Wears Prada — to add instant zhuzh to an ensemble.

Scarves are a staple of many a luxury atelier, with London-based brand Maison Bent the latest to add them to its offerings.

"We are excited to introduce our new silk scarves, handmade in the UK. Measuring 66 x 66cm, these luxuriously soft scarves are available in two prints: 'Queen Nanny' — a repetition of Nanny of the Maroons who was an 18th century leader in Jamaica, and 'Ackie', a fruit native to West Africa and a key ingredient in Jamaica's national dish — ackee and salt fish," shared founder and creative director Shanna Bent, who is herself of Jamaican heritage.

"The Ackie print is a photo I took of freshly picked ackee that a family friend gave to me during a recent trip, and the Nanny print is taken from the Jamaican $500-note. It's so surprising the amount of people who are unfamiliar with the ackee fruit and Queen Nanny! She is a vital part of history and her story should be shared. I would advise watching Woman King before researching her," Bent continued.

What's certain is that Maison Bent's scarves are guaranteed to be the most versatile accessory in your wardrobe! Whether worn as a chic bracelet or belt, styled as a retro headwrap à la Dior, or fashioned like the TikTok scarf top trend, there's more than just one way to wear this stylish add-on.

Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) is affording one lucky mum for Mother's Day a limited-edition 'Ackie' silk scarf.
